Lawyer's Committee for Human Rights

The Lawyer's Committee for Human Rights works particularly on the legal side of human rights protection, promoting respect for the legal protections promised in the Universal Declaration of Human Rights and subsequent international or multipartite human rights legal documents. The LCHR does not have an official WWW site yet, but its gopher site is informative.

Together with the Reebok Foundation, the LCHR has sponsored the Witness Program, which provides simple multimedia tools, such as camcorders, to human rights activists to enable them to document human rights abuses in parts of the world where governments, the local media, and armed opposition groups often successfully hide human rights abuses. Be warned that this page is visually complex, and contains a very large MPEG format video file. Don't download this unless you are sure you have the software to view it afterward!
